STArt Strand Youth Theatre

Offer Valid: 01/02/2022 - 03/31/2022
Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts
The downtown Pontiac’s historic 501c3 Flagstar Strand Theatre’s educational and performing arts programming has been on intermission. So, in 2022, we are safely re-engaging our Strand Theatre Art (STArt) Youth Theatre.

Deserving and underserved youth needs your financial resources to get back on the stage. They will learn; they will heal; they will create. Interested students will come from the Pontiac school system and area schools in Oakland County. Our youth will have eight weeks of rehearsals. The outcome – our new actors will be performing an entirely produced musical from April 23 - April 24, 2022.

“The National Endowment for the Arts understands the role of theaters for young audiences in preparing our next generation to inherit a world that has become dramatically more complex,” said Mary Anne Carter, chairperson of the National Endowment for the Arts. “The value of providing theater experiences for young people and supporting the organizations creating those experiences is even more vital now.”
