Join us on December 4th to bring in the Holiday Spirit with Forgotten Harvest and its success story. Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste. Its mission is to relieve hunger in the Detroit metropolitan community by rescuing surplus, prepared and perishable food and donating it to emergency food providers. Forgotten Harvest has become America’s largest food rescue by rescuing a record 42 million pounds of food in the 2011-2012 fiscal year.
Speakers:
•John Owens, Communications Director, Forgotten Harvest
•John Mozena, Senior Public Relations Executive, Mort Crim Communications
Attendees will learn about:
•The current state of hunger in Southeast Detroit and its effect on the economy.
•Strategies Forgotten Harvest has developed to meet demand when supply is cyclical.
•PR techniques that have helped Forgotten Harvest become the successful non-profit organization that it has become.
