Join us for an important educational program focusing on current “best practices” of workforce violence prevention, designed to keep you and your business safe. Officer Joseph Sears, Community Engagement Officer, City of Auburn Hills Police Department, will present on the following topics:
Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE)
Law enforcement officers and agencies are frequently requested by schools, businesses, and community members for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.
Safe City Program
Officer Sears will also explain the City of Auburn Hills Safe City program, a comprehensive public safety and private sector partnership to ensure all businesses, churches and schools are best prepared to respond to an emergency incident. This 4-step program is designed to provide your staff with the training necessary to respond to large scale emergency situations and will provide the Auburn Hills Police and Fire Departments the information necessary to tailor our emergency response to your location.
