Global Economic and Industry Outlook for 2016 and Beyond
Automation Alley’s conference will feature international business experts whom will discuss the shifting dynamics of the global economy and how companies can best position themselves to take advantage of the opportunities and challenges of doing business overseas. Speakers include Mr. James E. Glassman, Managing Director, JPMorgan Chase & Co.; and Head Economist, Chase Commercial Banking, New York City, New York; and Dr. Sean McAlinden, Vice President for Strategic Studies and Chief Economist, Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
They will discuss how the slowdown in emerging markets (China especially), slumping oil prices, the Fed inching up interest rates, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the pending TTIP, geopolitical risks (e.g., Iran and Russia), and the U.K.’s potential withdraw from the EU will impact the world economy in the coming years. They will also touch upon the U.S. presidential elections, too. Closer to home, they will narrow the focus on how these factors will affect Michigan’s business and industry climate, especially in the automotive and other advanced manufacturing industries.
Participants will also hear case studies from company executives whom will share their firsthand insights about the industries and countries/regions around the world where growth opportunities for small- and midsize-companies are particularly strong. Speakers will also examine projected trends in two-way trade and investment flows and identify industries that will either benefit or be challenged by globalization in the short, medium and long terms.
So if you’re interested in learning about the future of the global economy and how to plan your business strategies accordingly, you will not want to miss this event!
