ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES 
Assumes responsibility for effectively and efficiently performing mortgage loan support activities. 

  • Works with branch originators, mortgage originators and mortgage sales assistants to process home equity and first mortgage files
  • Follows up with members, MCs and branch staff for missing documentation
  • Prepares files in the LOS system for submission to Underwriting as needed.
  • Utilize phone and email to communicate with internal and external members
  • Makes diligent effort to satisfy the requirements of alternative documentation for mortgage /home equity files. 
  • Schedules closing appointments with members & title companies as needed.  
  • Order and update vendor work as needed, up to and including titles, appraisal, homeowners insurance,verification of employment, etc…
  • Ability to become proficient in CORE system to better assist with home equity servicing
  • Assist members to quote interest rates, solve payment problems, give  verbal payoffs, answer questions on mortgage and home equity products, update the member on the  status of application,
  • Assist the Credit Union branch staff with mortgage or home equity questions. 
  • Maintain timeliness and prompt turn-around time. 
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all other TEAM members. 
  • Assist other TEAM members as needed to achieve monthly and annual goals. 
  • Show support of the Credit Union’s goals and objectives. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management in support of Real Estate lending or Genisys Credit Union in other areas. 
  • Work a flex schedule as needed. 
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional business relationships with  members and mortgage professionals. 
  • Resolves or refers requests and problems promptly and courteously. Answers member loan  questions regarding applications in the process of approval.
  • Keeps members properly informed of Credit Union policies and procedures. Notifies members of  additional information required. 
  • Maintains and conveys the Credit Union's professional reputation 
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with  Credit Union personnel and with management. 
  • Assists and supports real estate lending personnel as needed. 
  • Completes reports and records promptly and accurately. 
  • Attends meetings as required. 
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. 
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. 
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical functions as needed. 
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. 
  • Replaces absent real estate lending personnel as required. 
  • Professionally cross-sells Credit Union services. 
QUALIFICATIONS 
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: 
  • High school graduate or equivalent.  
  • Ability to become and remain 100% bonded
  • Ability to obtain an NMLS number 
  • Product Certification. 
  • Appropriate sales training. 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 
  • General knowledge of mortgage loan services and procedures a plus.
  • Knowledge of related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria after training. 
  • Understanding of products and services.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including Anti-Money Laundering (ACL); Customer Identification Program (CIP); and Customer Due Diligence (CDD); to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • BSA Specific Requirements: Understand compliance and attend training related to the position including, but not limited to, The Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. Understand Bank Secrecy Act forms and procedures to include Suspicious Activity Reports.  Monitor and report suspicious activity. Notify the BSA Officer of any suspicious activities.  
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
SKILLS/ABILITIES: 
  • Good organizational skills and attentive to detail.
  • Good communication abilities.
  • Exceptional phone skills
  • Cooperative and works well with others. 
  • Able to use computer related applications and basic business equipment.
  • Good math skills.
