Employment Law Paralegal Specialty Course
This course offers a survey of family law, case law and certain statutory laws. This course covers various topics such as the definition of family, constitutional limitations on the regulation of the family, marriage (formal and informal), limitations on marriage, divorce, the parent-child relationship, parenting time and custody issues, alimony (maintenance), property distribution upon divorce, child support, dispute resolution systems, and domestic violence.
Learn directly from Practicing Employment Law Attorneys and earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits to support your ongoing professional development. Upon successful completion, participants receive an official Certificate of Completion.
This course is part of the Oakland University Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) ABA-Approved Paralegal Program. OU PACE offers a rotating selection of 7-week Special Topic courses designed for focused CLE skill development. Course offerings change each semester to cover timely, high-demand areas of law—including Criminal Law, Immigration Law and other emerging specialties.
