MLK Day Celebration
Join the City of Auburn Hills for a meaningful service day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as we come together as a community and make tie blankets to be donated to Grace Centers of Hope. Dr. King once said, "We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." Our theme, "We are ___," allows us to reflect on our interconnectedness and community. No prior experience is needed to come, give back, and have a good time.
This isn't the only day we plan on serving our community, the entire month of January, the Auburn Hills Community Center will be running a coat drive. If you have new or gently used jackets you no longer use, please consider donating them because cold is a feeling everyone can relate to. We have partnered with Beyond Basics, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing literacy among students.
