Oakland HOPE Operations Manager
The Ops Manager position at Oakland HOPE is perfect for an early retiree who enjoys a challenge and likes to be busy! Ops Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, assist with staff management, and operations of all buildings and vehicles on our campus.
Oakland HOPE is a Christian based, fast-passed, volunteer-driven, growing non-profit. We are a social entrepreneur with our Thrift Store funding our Client Choice Food Pantry ministry, our Warehouse, Gardens and Community Kitchen. Candidates should possess strong and approachable human service abilities, customer service, attention to detail, aptitude for multi-tasking, ability to communicate clearly and delegate expectations as well as the capability of working effectively and independently with staff and volunteers and extend grace under pressure.
Our Leadership Philosophy: We Don't Lead from Behind a Desk - We Lead from the Front.
Serving as an Operations Manager at Oakland HOPE is far more than managing people, schedules, facilities, and systems. It is an opportunity to become a local missionary in the largest Food Pantry in Oakland County, and join a community of like-minded staff and volunteers who share our beliefs and servant’s heart.
This is a ministry of presence. Our leaders are expected to be visible, engaged, and willing to work alongside staff, volunteers, and the families we serve. You cannot lead this organization from an office. You must be willing to walk the floor, work alongside the team, solve problems in real time, serve our guests, and do whatever needs to be done. You must be able to walk-the-talk.
The person who steps into this role will carry a significant responsibility: helping lead an organization that provides food, dignity, hope, and the love of Christ to thousands of people in our community. We are looking for someone whose faith is lived, not simply stated; whose leadership is demonstrated through service; and whose presence inspires others to serve.
