Baker College Health Education Fair
This free event is open to the public with something for people of all ages. There will be health screenings, health education and demonstrations, and attendees can get a close-up look at Beaumont Hospital?s ambulance and emergency helicopter! More than 200 students in Baker College?s health sciences programs, joined by health care professionals and others in health-related fields, will offer the following, which are all FREE: ? Ultrasound screenings (cardiac, vascular and general) ? Health risk assessments?cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings; height, weight and body mass index (BMI) measurements ? Blood typing ? Smoking cessation and asthma education ? Fitness, ergonomics and fall prevention awareness ? Bike safety demonstrations and sun safety information ? Ask a physician, pediatrician or pharmacist ? Dental checks, teeth cleanings and whitening trays Health-related community groups will provide information about their services, there will be entertainment for kids, and prizes, such as Fitbits, certificates for massages and personal training sessions, will be awarded throughout the fair. Joining Baker College to present this fair are the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce, Beaumont Wellness Coalition, Common Ground and Clarkston Internal Medicine.
