Leadership Oakland Class XXXVI Announces Day of Service Request for Proposal

Pontiac, MI – Leadership Oakland Class of XXXVI (LOXXXVI) has officially opened its online application for the 2026 Day of Service Request for Proposal, inviting nonprofit organizations across Oakland County to apply for the opportunity to partner on a meaningful community impact project.

LOXXXVI, a cohort of diverse, collaborative leaders representing business, government, and nonprofit sectors, is committed to creating a lasting legacy through its annual Service Project. The selected organization will receive direct volunteer engagement, financial resources, and strategic support to advance its mission and enhance long-term sustainability.

The class will contribute up to 50 volunteers, project resources, and between $10,000 and $20,000 in capital funding to design, plan, and execute a one-day Service Project in collaboration with the chosen nonprofit. One organization will be awarded the partnership following a competitive application and review process.

Each year, Leadership Oakland’s Cornerstone Class partners with a local nonprofit to make a visible difference in the community, said the LOXXXVI Steering Committee. The committee looks forward to identifying a partner whose mission aligns with the class’s shared commitment to service, collaboration, and leadership.

Selection Process and Timeline

The LOXXXVI Steering Committee will evaluate proposals using a standardized rubric to ensure equity and alignment with Leadership Oakland’s community-driven values. Finalists may be contacted for additional information. Following committee review, the entire LOXXXVI class will participate in a final vote to determine the nonprofit recipient.

• Application Period: November 17 – December 19, 2025

• Decision Notification: January 26, 2026

• Project Implementation Phase: Concludes by May 31, 2026

• Post–Day of Service Impact Report Due: June 4, 2026
